Texte pédagogique fictif
A fictional furniture maker wants to compete with low-cost retailers. Instead of claiming to be the cheapest, it highlights repair services, spare parts and durable designs. Its marketing team proposes short videos showing how customers can maintain the products. The sales department welcomes the idea but warns that repair appointments are already fully booked. The communication strategy could help the business stand out, provided that its service capacity matches its promises. The message, the target audience and the organisation’s ability to deliver should therefore be considered together.
« To advertise a product » ne signifie pas avertir : « to warn » exprime l’avertissement. Évitez « more better » : utilisez « better » ou « more effective ».
Exercice
Explain in 60–80 words why the proposed campaign may create both an opportunity and a risk.
Afficher le corrigé expliqué
The campaign may attract customers who value repairability and long-term use, helping the company compete on factors other than price. However, the promise could damage trust if repair appointments are unavailable. Before launching the campaign, management should assess capacity and explain realistic service times. A distinctive message is useful only if the customer experience supports it.
